The monsoon flow continues after a very active week, some area picked up some decent rainfall, close to 2″ in a few locations, with far less other areas such as the west end of town. Humidity will come down a bit on Friday, with less widespread coverage of convection, but a few isolated thundershowers are still possible with highs in the 70’s, southwest winds 5-15mph during the afternoon. Over the weekend, high pressure will temporarily shift south and westward, which will cut off the flow of deeper moisture into the area with just some afternoon clouds expected. As the humidity decreases, temperatures will increase as highs reach the lower to mid-80’s Saturday and Sunday, while overnight lows cool to the 40’s and 50’s. A returning southeast flow will advect moisture back into the area next week for an increasing chance of showers and storms, which could become more widespread towards midweek as deeper moisture arrives.
