Pines Tavern grand opening is May 31

It’s been a long time coming, but The Pines Tavern on the Lake is open.

The building that sits on the lake just to the west of The Pines Lakefront restaurant has been remodeled inside and out. The only thing that remains is the incredible view of the lake, sunsets and the footprint of the original building.

The Pines Tavern had a soft opening a couple of weeks ago. A grand opening celebration is set for Friday, May 31, at 6 p.m.

John Isakson and Jerry Lemke, who own and operate The Pines Lakefront, took over the building when the former business there closed a couple of years ago. The Tavern has a bar in the center and is surrounded by picture windows so that there isn’t a bad seat in the house, even if you are lounging in one of the comfy chairs by the fireplace listening to music as the sun goes down.

Outside, the patio on the west side will seat 35 and be covered. The Juniper Lakeside Terrace on the east side features seating for more than 60 and will also have a tiki bar in the future, Isakson said. There is also a small private patio that is under construction.

Dock and dine is an option for those boating on Big Bear Lake this summer. New docks, featuring special slips for pontoon boats, are ready for service. Pull in, tie up and enjoy lunch on the water, or take it with you and enjoy on your boat.
